chiropractic is…

…the science, art, and philosophy that studies the relationship between the nervous system and the health of the body.

Chiropractic Today

Since its discovery in 1895, the fundamental principles upon which chiropractic is based have changed very little. What has changed are the levels of skill and knowledge that today’s chiropractors possess. Over recent years, the training of chiropractors has evolved to the highest of standards.

Chiropractors now lead the way in an approach to health care that focuses on facilitating the full expression of each individual’s inborn potential. Your chiropractor achieves this end with natural, safe and gentle techniques delivered with the intention of restoring, maintaining and then optimizing nervous system function.

Prevention is better than a cure

At Lefebvre Chiropractic, we believe that prevention is better than a cure. We believe that being proactive and committed to becoming your best ‘you’ is the key to achieving balance, wellness and the highest quality of life.

Your chiropractor’s primary goal is to ensure that the complex “communication superhighway” within the spinal column, called the nervous system, can relay information accurately back and forth between all parts of the body and the brain.

This is achieved by restoring, maintaining and then optimizing the function of your back and neck, which together are referred to as the spinal column.

How do I know?

Chiropractic care is ideal for anyone, at any stage of life, from child to senior citizen, who is interested in leading a life full of health and wellness.

Chiropractic focuses on optimizing the function of the spine. Your chiropractor primarily performs adjustments (manipulations) to the spine or other parts of the body to correct alignment problems, alleviate pain, improve function, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Chiropractors treat issues with the spine that are called subluxations. Due to mental, physical, and chemical stresses from things like employment, school, inherited genes, poor posture, and environmental pollution, subluxations can occur. When subluxations occur, they create muscle spasms and spinal bones (vertebrae) lock up. This impedes the functioning of your body and can affect your everyday life.  When functioning correctly through chiropractic care, your body can appropriately adapt to these stresses and other issues in our everyday lives.

Chiropractic Care, Better Health Naturally

Chiropractic is more than alternative healthcare, it’s a lifestyle. For many of us, our current state of health is a compilation of years of  good and bad lifestyle choices. Bad choices can lead to arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, putting the body in a state of  “dis-ease.”

The first step to living a chiropractic lifestyle is being aware of these factors and how they can impact your health. A healthy diet and exercise, partnered with chiropractic care, allows you to take control of your life, improve your health, and how your body and mind feel. Curious and open-minded, you will learn to listen to your body and the feedback it gives you. As a result, you will do more of what makes you healthier and less of which depletes your life energy.
